SOUROULLAS Flaouna cheese is a traditional Cypriot cheese, made in Cyprus with 100% sheep and goat’s milk.
Flaouna cheese is the basic ingredient for ‘flaounes’ recipe, a traditional cheese-filled pastry prepared for Greek Orthodox Easter. Flaouna cheese is grated and mixed with eggs, raisins and herbs, then filled into pastry cases, brushed with egg wash and sprinkled with sesame seeds before baking in an oven. A delicious and authentic sweet cheese pastry, eaten once Lent is over.
